Fight against terrorism on, police now concentrates on crime detection

SRINAGAR:  Claiming that Jammu and Kashmir police performed extremely well in maintaining peace and order in the state during 2015, Director General of Police K Rajendra Kumar today said without scaling down fight against terrorism, the force has to attend to crime detection and prevention in commitment of public service the society and show credible results.

Greeting the people of the state and all ranks of the police force and their families, Mr Kumar on the eve of New Year reiterated his commitment of public service, saying that JKP, after facing different challenges with fortitude is now increasing focus on other facets of professional policing.

Drive against different social crimes has been intensified, besides maintaining law and order in the State. Professional skills of our personnel are being sharpened to enhance capabilities. ”We, at all times dedicate ourselves to the highest ethical and professional standards to maintain public confidence”, Mr Kumar added.

Elaborating the achievements of the force, the DGP said the police performed extremely well in maintaining peace and order in the state. But, he said at the same time have to rejuvenate our energies and ponder upon our shortcomings so that we could find ways and means to overcome these in New Year.”

He said we have to enhance the spirit of public service among us and live up to the increasing expectations of the people, by delivering at grass root levels. Mr Kumar said that the state Police force has stood at par with the premier police forces of the country and is now called upon to pay more attention to other aspects of policing to keep pace with the Government?s policy of stability and consolidation.
