JAMMU, Jan 3: A rock climbing contest was organized this morning at KC Sports Club for the students, who attended the 15 days’ Winter Camp in the Club.
The artificial rock designed skillfully within the Gym of the Club offers the members the opportunity to try their hands at this challenging sport, which requires agility, motor-ability, anticipation, concentration, stamina and sharp thinking.
The contest was held in various age groups. Ram Khajuria, Secretary, North Zone Sports Climbing Committee graced the occasion with his presence.
National level climbers such as Aman Arora, Hardev Singh and Mritunjay Sharma were also present.
All the competitors took part in the contest with tremendous zeal and tried to climb the wall in the shortest possible time.
Eventually, Mohammad Ali Sayyam, Akshat and Vishavjeet Rao emerged winners in the sub-junior group with first, second and third positions to their credit respectively. In the junior group, Prajwal Singh bagged the first position, while Nikhil Sharma and Avneesh Dhar claimed 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
In girls section, Smriti Jamwal won the first position, while Laghina Sharma and Archie Kapoor claimed 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
