DODA, Jan 4: A Wrestling Competition was organized by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, Delta Force at Sports Stadium, here today.
A total of 36 wrestlers from all over Doda district participated in the Competition.
SSP Doda, SHO Doda, Chief Planning Officer Doda, Principal Government Degree College, Principal Boys Higher Secondary School, Deputy Commandant CRPF and officials of Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, Doda graced the inauguration ceremony with their presence.
A total of 650 audience witnessed the event and thereafter presented the winner`s trophy and also the first prize of Rs 10,000 to Nisar Ahmed of Gundu, Udhampur and second prize of Rs 4000 to Rajesh Kumar of Kathua.
Cash prizes and consolation prizes were presented to the participants and cash prizes were also given to all winners and runners-up of 16 bouts.
The competition was organized to promote Wrestling as a sport in the remote region of Doda District.
Troops of Delta Force provided all essential administrative support to organize the competition.
The event drew overwhelming response from the people of Doda and they appreciated the efforts of Delta Force for reviving the local sports in the district.
