NEW DELHI: Technology giant Microsoft will finally launch its Surface range of tablets in India later this week.

Microsoft is all set to bring its ‘Surface Pro 4’ tablet to India on January seven. This is the first time that the US-based company will officially make Surface available in the Indian market.

In November last year, Satya Nadella, the India-born chief of Microsoft, had announced that the company will bring the device to India soon.

“Start fresh on a brand new SURFACE! Microsoft India invites you to experience the world’s most powerful computing device,” read an invite sent by the Redmond-headquartered firm.

The Surface Pro 4 tablet is priced in the US at USD 899, but the company has not disclosed the pricing for the Indian market.

It can be priced at Rs 75,000 and above, according to trade information.

The Surface Pro 4 features a 12.3-inch screen and runs on 6th-generation Intel Core processor. To be powered by Windows 10, the device turns into a fully-powered laptop from a tablet while running all desktop software and weighs just 766 grams.

It claims to have a 9-hour battery life with storage options starting at 64 GB and expandable up to 128 GB, 256 GB and 500 GB. (AGENCIES)
