JAMMU, Jan 5: Krishna Cricket Club prevailed over International Cricket Club (ICC), Jammu in a thrilling contest via super-over in the ongoing 3rd Jammu Tawi Premier T20 Cricket Tournament, being played at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, International Cricket Club scored a fighting total of 138 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Arun top scored with 32 runs, while Surjeet Singh contributed 23 runs to the total. Sant Baksh chipped in with 15 runs. For Krishna Club, Jagdeep and Sunny took 2 wickets, while Vicky claimed one.
In reply, Krishna Cricket Club also scored 138 runs and the match was decided in super-over, wherein Krishna Club emerged victorious. Vikram Dogra was the top scorer with 72 runs, while Prince contributed 27 runs to the total. Lucky chipped in with 12 runs. Irshad was the most successful bowler for ICC, who scalped 3 important wickets, while Manna bagged 2 and Manjeet claimed one. Vikram Dogra was declared man of the match for his brilliant batting performance.
In another match, Secretariat XI defeated Kherian Tawi Cricket Club in an easy contest by 54 runs. Batting first, Secretariat XI rode on superb knocks of 45 and unbeaten 43 by Danish and Altaf respectively scored a good total of 143 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Mehraj also contributed 12 runs to the total. Ashok took 3 wickets for Kherian Cricket Club and Gosha bagged 2.
In reply, Kherian Club collapsed at 89 runs in 16 overs, thus lost the match by 54 runs. Dev top scored with 15 runs, Jaspreet contributed 13 and Sunny chipped in with 10 runs. Arshad was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 4 wickets for Secretariat XI, while Mehraj bagged 2 and Asif one. Arshad of Secretariat XI was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant bowling display.
