Gambling den busted, 5 arrested with Rs 1.30 lakh stake money

JAMMU, Jan 10: Police busted a gambling den operative in a room at Jammu and Kashmir Tourist Development Corporation (JKTDC), Residency Road, here with the arrest of five persons and recovered of Rs 1.30 lakh stake money and playing cards.
As per police sources, on specific information regarding a gambling den, police team conducted raid in a room at Jammu and Kashmir Tourist Development Corporation (JKTDC), Residency Road.
During the raid, police arrested five persons and recovered Rs 1.30 lakh stake money and playing cards from the spot.
The accused have been identified as Ajaz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Nabi of Ompura Badgam, Shabir Ahmed, son of Abdul Ahad of Bandipora, Gulzar Ahmed, son of Ghulam Nabi of Anantnag, Manzoor Ahmed, son of Ghulam Nabi of Bijbehara and Fayaz Ahmed, son of Mohammad Abdullah of Eidgah Srinagar.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered against the accused at City police station and further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SDPO City Perbeet Singh Parihar, SHO City police station Inspector Shakti Sharma and Incharge Residency Road police post SI Sohit Trikha busted the gambling den under the supervision of SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
