KHC reiterates one place settlement demand

JAMMU, Jan 10: Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) in its meeting here today held under the chairmanship of advocate M L Thussu took stock of the happenings in the State viz -a -viz displaced Pandits from the Valley.
As per a release, the meeting viewed seriously the negligence of both State and Central Governments with regard to the return and rehabilitation of displaced Pandits to Valley.
The meeting said the go slow policy of State and Central Government has made the return of Pandits a complicated issue.
The meeting said that any dialogue with Pakistan will be meaningless unless the displaced people are rehabilitated in one protected place popularly known as Satellite township or smart city. The community during long exile of 26 years has become scattered community with the result they are unable to press their demand of one place settlement in Kashmir unitedly.
The leaders of the Conference also criticized the Government with their partiality with regard to Pandits participation in socio-political affairs of the State. A temporary ration card issued during the time of forced mass exodus has not been converted into a permanent ration card, it added.
It urged the Union Government to take concrete steps for one place settlement of displaced Pandits in Valley.
The meeting among others was addressed by P L Koul Budgami, M L Daftri, S N Raina, A K Koul, A K Bhat, M L Koul, G L Koul and K L Ganjoo.
