KATRA, Jan 13: In order to mark the 153rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and National Youth Day, a special lecture was organized by International Volunteer Foundation (IVF) and School of Philosophy and Culture, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.
Swami Ekarthananda, who was chief guest on the occasion, delivered an inspiring lecture on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. He highlighted that ‘Be and make’ is the motto of Swami Vivekananda. “So build your character based on spirituality first and then serve the nation. Swami Vivekananda tells us to be bold, to be strong and have courage to accept the responsibility on our own shoulder for our failures and not to lay blame on others,” he stressed.
Kiran Kumar Sharma, chairman IVF, National Awardee and social worker, also spoke on the occasion. He said that Indian youth have the potential to lead the world and the teachings of Swami Vivekananda will guide them to attain success in life. He called upon the students to read books on the life and teachings of Vivekananda and follow the teachings in day to day life honestly. He ended with the quote of Vivekananda “All power is within you, you can do anything and everything”.
The students also interacted with Swami Ekarthananda and asked questions related to different challenges and threats in student life. Swami Ekarthananda answered all the questions one by one.
