JTC asks Govt to clear stand on RBA certificates

JAMMU, Jan 13: A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) was held here at Jagti Nagrota under the Chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, President of the Committee. The meeting was attended by the office bearers and members of the Committee.
During the meeting the participants expressed their grave concern over banning of RBA certificates to the Kashmiri Pandit Youth hailing from Reserved Backward Area of Kashmir valley.
While speaking Shadi Lal Pandita said that he had sought information under RTI Act from the Relief Organisation in respect of issuance of RBA Certificates to the deserving candidates of Kashmiri Pandit Community wherein in the reply it has been revealed that the matter was discussed in Apex Advisory Committee meeting on 06-09-2013 under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister. The matter has also been taken up with Commissioner / Secretary to Govt. Social Welfare Department as well as Commissioner / Secretary to Government Revenue Department and proposals submitted to the Cabinet for its consideration and the same stands deferred for reconsideration by the Department as per Cabinet decision dated 11-06-2014.
Pandita said that neither this Migrant Community has been rehabilitated in Kashmir valley permanently nor any rehabilitation of the Community has taken place as such deferring issuance of RBA Certificates to eligible Migrant Youth of this community hailing from Reserved Backward Areas of Kashmir valley is grave injustice with the Community.
