NCC Akhnoor seals berth in finals of New Year Cup

AKHNOOR, Jan 14: Defeating Street Warriors by a narrow margin of 12 runs in the semifinals, NCC Akhnoor sealed berth in the finals of the ongoing New Year Cricket Cup, being played at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here.
The Tournament is being organized by Singh Cricket Club under the overall supervision of its president, Sham Singh Langeh.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, NCC scored a decent total of 172 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Gagan was the top scorer with 45 runs, while Golu and Sourav contributed 42 and 30 runs to the total respectively. For Street Warriors, Rahul and Bunty took 2 wickets each, while Aman, Ankit and Ashu claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Street Warriors scored 160 runs in 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 12 runs. Bhupinder (35), Rahul (31) and Sabi Suden (25) were the main contributors. Shammy was the pick of the bowlers who took 3 wickets for NCC, while Arush took 2 wickets. Gagan and Ricky claimed one wicket each. Gagan was declared as man of the match.
The match was officiated by Lucky, Pinka and Ashu.
