132 bags of Govt cement seized

KISHTWAR, Jan 15: Police seized 132 cement bags of Rural Development Department (RDD) from the houses of Sarpanch and naib Sarpanch of Keshwan-A area, here.
As per police sources, an information was received that sarpanch of Keshwan-A namely Abdul Hamid, son of Nasrullah Mir and naib Sarpanch Raj Kumar, son of Mohan Lal, both residents of Keshwan have illegally stored the Government cement in their house in compliance with RDD officials of Thakrei.
Acting over the information, a team from Kishtwar police station conducted raids in the houses of Sarpanch and naib Sarpanch and seized 132 bags of Government cement.
The cement bags recovered from the houses were meant for developmental works, but instead issuing the cement for developmental works, the sarpanch and naib sarpanch dumped it in their houses in connivance with RDD officials for black marketing.
No arrest has been made in misappropriation of Government cement till yet.
A case under FIR Number 10/16 under Sections 403, 406, 409 and 109 RPC has been registered in this regard at police station Kishtwar and investigation started.
