RAMBAN, Jan 19: Police arrested a bootlegger along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches from Bhaderwah Morh area, falling under the jurisdiction of Batote police station.
As per police sources, during routine checking, a person identified as Karnail Chand, son of Amar Chand of Kashtigarh, District Doda, was stopped for checking at Bhaderwah Morh.
During checking, 72 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered from the possession of the man and the police arrested him on the spot.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered against the accused at police station Batote and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Batote police station Inspector Arun Kotwal made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban MR Choudhary and SSP Ramban. Randeep Kumar.
