Excelsior CorrespondentJAMMU, Jan 22: Youth Talent search, a forum of schools organized an inter school “Extemporary Declamation contest” in Hindi as well as In English at JK Montessorie Sr.Sec. School Talab Tillo here today.
The function started with Saraswati Vandana by the students of class 9th. Students from more than 10 reputed schools of Jammu namely Alexander Memorial school, Bikram Memorial School, Lawrence Public School, New Era Environmental High  School, SD Tara Puri, Guru Govind Public School and Mayur Public School participated in this competition with great interest, enthusiasm & zeal.
The topics of the competition was “social media is a leading cause of victim in society” & “Charitra Hi Dharam Ka Mool Hai ”
Raj Kumar, retired Principal was the chief guest and Inderjeet Sawhney, Senior Lecturer of English  was  the guest of honour and also judged the competition.
Two students from each school spoke on the topic & the listeners were impressed by the confidence exhibited by the students as they voiced their opinion in strong and powerful words in neck to neck competition where each tried to outshine the other to the best  of his / her ability.
The winners were judged on the basis of their content  expression, Gestures ,pronounciation & Confidence.
The 1st Prize in English was won by Ajaz Hussain of Lawrence Public School 2nd by Tanvi Sharma of Mayur Public School and 3rd position was secured by Prisca of SD Tara Puri School.
While in Hindi contest, 1st position was bagged by Christson of Alexander Memorial School, 2nd position was clinched by Vansh Baru of Lawrence Public School and the third prize secured by Palak Sehgal of New Era Environmental High School.
Managing Director, Sanjeev Gupta of JKMS and Director Academics, Rajni Gupta lauded the efforts of the students as well as the teachers for their brilliant performance.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajni Gupta said that such competitions help the students to improve their communication skills and learn the new ways of presenting their thoughts.
