JAMMU, Jan 23: Khalsa Club, KC Sports Club and Jammu Police XI registered emphatic wins to stay alive in the 4th Eid Diwali Christmas T20 Cricket Cup, being played at Parade Ground here.
The tournament in which 24 teams are participating is being organized jointly by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department, Simula Sports Club, Atman Sports Club and Christian Sports Organization.
Earlier, Ranjeet Kalra Vice Chairman Sports Council Jammu and Member BCCI was the chief guest in today’s matches who was introduced with the participating teams .
In the first match Khalsa Club defeated Singh Cricket Club by 7 wickets .
Batting first, Singh Cricket XI scored 126 runs in stipulated 16 overs for 8 wickets, with Chandan (69) and Pankaj (21) being the main scorers. Amarpreet and Nitin took 2 wickets each ,while K.K , Mannu and Vishal took 1 wicket each for Khalsa Cricket Club.
Khalsa Cricket Club, in reply, achieved the target in 15.3 overs by losing 3 wickets only thus won the match by 7 wickets. Harpreet and Vivek were the main scorer with 38 and 32 runs, while Lucky contributed 21 runs. Sunil took 2 wickets,Sourav took 1 wicket . Harpreet was adjudged man of the match.
In the second match, KC Sports Club scripted a thrilling win against All Greens Club.
Batting First All Greens Cricket Club scored 113 runs for 8 wickets in allotted 16 overs game with Bafar 25 runs and Azar 17 runs were the main scorers . Shubam and Vivek took 2 wickets each , while Ramandeep, Abhishant and Arjun shared 1wicket for KC Sports XI.
KC Sports Club chased the target in 10.2 over of the game by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Suransh top scored with 61 runs and Ateef made 39 runs for the team. Naveed took 1 wicket. Suransh was adjudged man of the match .
In another match , Jammu Police XI defeated ICC XI by 7 Wickets.
Batting First ICC XI Scored 90 runs for the lost of all wickets in allotted 16 overs. Samad and Nipun were the main batsmen who scored 29 and 26 runs.Aman Sharma took 4 wickets, Rajesh Gill and Shamsher Singh took 2 wickets each while Ishtiaq took 1 wicket for Jammu Police XI.
In reply, Jammu Police XI chased the target in 12.1 overs by losing only 3 wickets. Ishtiaq, Khalid and farooq were the main scorers who made 31,19 and 17 runs for Police team.Santbaksh and Monnu shared 1 wicket for ICC XI. Aman Sharma declared as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, RP Singh, Vinod, Sunil Sambyal and Danny.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Shastri Club will take on ICC at 8.30 am, JKP Seniors XI will lock horns with Secretariat Seniors XI at 11.30 am and Aircel Seniors XI will face Evershine XI at 2.15 pm.
