SAMBA, Sept 8: Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Ramgarh thrashed Arvind Ghosh Higher Secondary School, Vijaypur, in the finals and lifted the title trophy of under-19 District Level Inter School Volleyball tournament.
Earlier, in the first semis, Arvind Ghosh Higher Secondary School, Vijaypur, defeated Government Higher Secondary School, Sumb, whereas, in the second semifinal, Government Higher Secondary School, Ramgarh, trounced arch rival Higher Secondary School, Ghagwal.
In under-14 wrestling competition, Jeewan Kumar, Vikas Raj and Kulvinder of GMS Karalian thrashed their opponents and emerged winners.
In under-17 wrestling competition, Vijay Singh of GHS Sarna, Jagdev Singh of GHSS Utterbehani, Sandeep Singh of GHS Taloor and Amit Singh of GHS Sarthian emerged winners.
In under-19 wrestling competition, Bhushan Kumar of GHSS Rajpura, Nitu Singh of GHSS Mansar, Mushtaq Ahmed of GHSS Jakh, Mohd Tariq of GHSS Smailpur, Dinesh Singh of Shishu Niketan Samba and Shubam Singh Katal of GHSS Samba emerged winners.
The tournament is being conducted under the overall supervision of Jarpal Singh, DYSSO Samba.
In the championship, a total of 56 teams of volleyball boys and girls, 10 teams of kho-kho and 60 wrestlers participated.
