JAMMU, Jan 29: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today organized a Dogri Kahani Goshthi by involving scholars of Dogri Department, University of Jammu in the K.L Saigal Hall, Jammu.
Dr. Lalit Magotra, a prominent short-story writer and Convenor(Dogri), Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi presided and Dr. Om Goswami, prominent Dogri and Hindi writer, scholar was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr. Aziz Hajini, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages were also present in the presidium.
Delivering his presidential address, Dr. Lalit Magotra lauded the role of the Academy in bringing forward new talent amongst the scholars/students from the Language Departments of University and other educational institutions. He said that this effort of J&K Cultural Academy will go a long way and will definitely a second line in the field of literature will emerged out of these efforts.
Dr. Om Goswami congratulated the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for its efforts being taken to promote the art and literature in an innovative way. He also welcomed the new short-story writers who presented their short-stories in this Kahani Goshthi.
Earlier, delivering his welcome address, Dr. Aziz Hajini, Secretary of the Academy highlighted the aims and objectives of these series of literary programmes being organized by the Academy. He said that J&K Academy is trying to give platform to the youth in the field of writing by reaching at their doorsteps. He further informed that on 30th of Jan., 2016 at 12 noon, a multi-lingual Kahani Goshthi will be organized by the students of Women College, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The writers who presented their short-stories were: Ritu Kumar Sharma(Macchar), Manoj Heer(Dhanwad), Narinder Kumar(Ek Khunjh), Brahm Dutt(Faisla), Radha Rani(Janamdin) and Kailash Mohan(Jo Usi Manjoor Ha Honda Uyey)
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri and Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
Among others were present include: Narinder Bhasin, Dr. Baljeet Raina, Deepak Arsi, Hardeep Singh Deep, Krishan Sharma, Chattarpal, Krishna Sharma, N.D Jamwal, Sunil Sharma, Surinder Goel, Kamal Kishore and Mudassir Ali.
