JAMMU, Sept 8: Aman Gupta, Vivek Sharma and Vivek Sasan emerged winners in the senior boys (60 kg category), on the concluding day of the Jammu District Judo Championship, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Judo Association, under the aegis of J&K Olympic Association and J&K State Sports Council at Indoor complex, MA Stadium, here today.
On the valedictory function, DIG JP Singh, was the chief guest, while Sidharth Sharma, joint secretary, J&K State Sports Council, was the guest of honour.
Besides, Vikas Gupta, organizing secretary, RC Thakur, secretary, J&K Judo Association, Suraj Bhan Singh, Arshi, Vikas Dogra, Ritika Slathia and Rameshwar Singh, were also present.
DIG JP Singh along with Sidharth Sharma, distributed medals among the winners and runner-ups.
While speaking, DIG JP Singh, impressed upon the students to participate in sports activities actively, so as to keep their body physically and mentally fit.
Sidharth Sharma, in his speech, said that sports play pivotal role for the overall development of the body.

Among others present were Varinder Dogra, Shiv Kumar, Suraj Sharma, Ajay Gupta, Ashwani Dogra, Bhanu Partap, Raj Kumar and Varinder Sharma.

Senior Boys:
In 73 kg category, Rajesh Singh and Ashwani Kumar bagged first and second positions respectively, whereas, in 81 kg category, Ranjodh Singh and Suresh Singh bagged first and second positions respectively, while, Ankit Sharma and Munish Chatwal, shared third position. In 90 kg, Sheran Mirza and Satyajeet Singh secured first and second positions respectively.
Sub Junior Girls:
In 7-8 years category, Vishali Sharma, Suhani Kiran, Prachi Bhotra and Simrandeep Kour, emerged winners.
In 10-12 years category (below 25 kg), Diya Jamwal and Manshu Saini secured first and second positions respectively, while, the third position was secured by Kanishka Kesar and Somiksha Sharma.
In below 30 kg, Divya Kumari and Khushboo Bhat secured first and second positions respectively.
In below 35 kg, Komal Magotra and Akriti Sharma emerged winners.
In below 40 kg category, Adhiti Sharma, Sakshi Sharma and Prachi secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In above 40 kg, Suhasi Kiran and Vaishali Choudhary secured first and second positions respectively.
12-14 years category:
In below 44 kg, Shikha Bhat and Ridhima Ghai emerged winners.
14-17 years category:
In below 44 kg, Arpita Puri, Archi Khajuria and Himanshu Nagri secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In below 48 kg, Mehak Pandita and Shaivya Jamwal secured first and second positions respectively.
In above 48 kg, Yashika Jamwal and Sumati Kumari bagged first and second positions respectively, while, Ishma Wazir and Ruksana shared third position.
In below 57 kg, Supriyapan Pandita, Poonam Sharma, Shiwali Manhas and Akri Sharma, emerged winners.
Above 20 years girls, Sumedha Gupta, Tanish Jamwal, Prajakta Koul and Simran Choudhary emerged winners.
