KISHTWAR, Jan 29: Police today fished out body of a missing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader from Chenab river near Kandini area.
As per police sources, some passerby noticed a body floating in river Chenab near Kandini and informed the police.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and divers were pressed in to fish out the body.
The body was retrieved from the river Chenab and shifted to District Hospital (DH), where after completing legal formalities, it will be handed over to family members for last rites tomorrow.
The deceased has been identified as BJP leader Jagdeep Parihar, son of late Subash Parihar, a resident of Matta. He was missing since Novermber 2, 2015 and a SIT was also constituted to trace him out.
A case in this regard has been registered at Kishtwar police station and investigation started to ascertain the cause of death.
