Chinar Primary School organizes Sports Day

JAMMU, Feb 9: Chinar Primary School, the junior wing of Sainik School Nagrota, organized its Sports Day at Maj Somnath Sharma (PVC) Stadium.
Colonel Kapil Dev Koushal, Principal, Sainik School Nagrota and Chairman, Chinar Primary School presided over the function as chief guest and distributed medals and certificates to winners of various sports events conducted on this occasion.
Lt Col Deepak Singh Thakur, Academic Secretary and Sqn Ldr VK Sharma, Administrative Secretary were also present to grace the occasion.
Tiny-tots from Class LKG to Vth participated enthusiastically in all the events and demonstrated their abilities.
Neena Koushal, Headmistress Chinar Primary School and the team of staff put in special efforts to make the day memorable to one and all by introducing very innovative and fun-filled activities such as ‘Sort the Twigs’, ‘Fix the Shapes’, ‘Set the Time’ etc for the first time.
The programme began with welcome address presented by Renu, followed by Karate display in which the young students demonstrated their skills in martial arts.
Subsequently, interesting sports events were conducted for all classes beginning with LKG.
In LKG, Himani Sharma stood first in ‘Sorting the Alphabets’ and Divya Bhat won the first prize in ‘Balloon Race’ while in UKG, Master Aarav Goel stood first in ‘Ball in Bucket’ and Master Jalesh Koul bagged first prize in ‘Snatch the Twigs’.
Diksha of Class I stood first in ‘Fix the Shapes’ and Master Vansh Garoo won the first prize in ‘Jump and Run’. In Class II, Master Bhavishya Pandita stood first in ‘Fun with Balloon’ and Shivani Raina bagged first prize in ‘Fill the Bucket’.
In Class III, Master Sanshrav Rana stood first in ‘Balancing the Ball’ and Master Aryan Singh Jamwal won the first prize in ‘Set the Time’. In a tough competition for Class IV, Master Swarit Shukla won the first prize in ‘Fly and Catch the Disk’ while Master Ankur Rana stood first in ‘Ring and Ball Race’. In Class V, Master Mandeep Singh bagged first prize in Making Pyramid’ and Master Ansh Khajuria stood first in ‘Balancing the Balloon’. Finally, in the nail-biting relay race, Team A comprising of Krish Raina, Abhi Kumar, Summit Raina and Priyanka Kumari won the first prize.
