JAMMU, Sept 9: Vishal Academy of Taekwondo (VAOT) lifted the overall trophy of the two day long 15th District Jammu Taekwondo Championship, organised by District Jammu Taekwondo Association under the aegis of J&K Taekwondo Association and Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI), held at Sprawling Buds School, Chinore, Bantalab.
The runner-up and second runner-up trophy of the championship was grabbed by Rakwal Taekwondo Club and Army School, Jammu Cantt, respectively.
Around 250 participants from nearly 20 clubs and schools participated in the championship and exhibited their skills.
The winners of championship will participate in the upcoming Sub Junior Taekwondo Nationals.
On the valedictory function, Tirath Ram, District Officer, Department of Youth Services and Sports, was the chief guest, who presented the medals to the winners in presence of Rahul Sharma, Director of Sprawling Buds School and Principal Pooja Sharma, who were the guest of honour.
While speaking, Tirath Ram, encouraged the young players to polish their skills.
Among others present were Varinder Sharma, Anuj Sharma, Tarsem Sharma, DN Pangotra, general secretary, DJTA and organising secretary of the championship, Gurinder Rakwal, vice president, DJTA and convenor of this championship, Atul Pangotra, Director of the championship.
The matches were officiated by Vikrant Narwalia, Technical Director, Arjun Gupta, incharge, Sanjay Kumar, Mukta Gupta, Rajesh Sharma, Rahul Chib, Adnan Beig, Brinder Singh Manhas, Rajat Thakur.
Today’s Result:
JUNIOR GIRLS: In below 42 kg, Narmita Katoch (VAOT), Ambreen Fatima (VAOT), Yashika Yadav ( Army School) and Priyanka Digra ( New Jyoti School) emerged winners.
In below 44 kg, Sidika Charak (VAOT), Kamla Devi (VAOT) and Deevanshi Puri (Jagrati Balwadi School) secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In below 49 kg, Meera Thapa (VAOT) bagged first position, while, the second and third positions were secured by Palavi Jamwal (Jagrati Balwadi School) and Simran Sharma (Jagrati Balwadi School) respectively.
Senior Girls:
In Below 47 kg, Diksha Sharma (VAOT) and Sakshi Dogra (VAOT), emerged winners.
Sub Junior Boys:
In below 27 kg, Vishvpartap Singh (VAOT), Gopal Mehra (VAOT), Vishal Kumar ( SSK) and Shanu Kumar (Santosh Vidya School), emerged winners.
In below 29 kg, Abhinav Sharma (VAOT), Sakeb Nasir (Army School), Kirtish Gupta(Shangrilla) and Amarjeet Kumar (SSK), emerged winners.
In below 32 kg, Parmarth Singh (VAOT), Honey Bali (VAOT), Vishav Singh (Army School) and Gourav Mehra (Jagrati Balwadi School), emerged winners.
In below 35 kg, Ankit Diman (Army School), Ramandeep Singh (Army School), Nirdosh Sudan(Adarsh Niketan) and Bhuvnesh Bhan (Sprawling Buds) emerged winners.
In below 38kg, Pranav Sharma (VAOT), Numan Mushtaq (Shangrilla), Sourav Bhagat (Santosh Vidya School) and Sumesh Singh (Army School), emerged winners.
In below 41kg, Ajay Kumar (Adarsh Niketan), Surinder Salathia (VAOT), Akash Chib (Army School) and Sourav Sarmal (Sprawling Buds), emerged winners.
In below 44kg, Arun Mehra (VAOT), Arash Sharma (Army School), Vishal Kaith (SSK) and Pankaj Mishra (Army School Jammu Cant), emerged winners.

In below 54 kg, Nitish Kumar (VAOT), Sunil Singh (VAOT), Rajat Bhagat (Tiger Club) and Goutam Uppel (VAOT), emerged winners.
In below 58 kg, Manoj Singh (VAOT), Arvind Kumar (VAOT) and Rajesh Kumar (Marh Block Club), secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In below 63kg, Rohit Sharma (VAOT), Nitish Anand (VAOT) secured first and second positions respectively, while the third rank was claimed by Akash Sharma (VAOT).
In below 68 kg, Adnan Beig (VAOT) and Rahul Singh Chib (VAOT) secured first and second positions respectively.
Junior Boys:
In below 45 Kg, Aman Gupta (VAOT), Bhaskar Gupta (VAOT), Rahul Singh (Army School) and Karan Thakur (Tiger Club).
In below 48kg, Rajesh Kumar (Tiger Club), Aman Rajput (Tiger Club), Sanjeev Kumar (Army School) and Manik Jamwal (Jagrati Balwadi) emerged winners.
In below 51 kg, Sanket Sharma (VAOT), Mukesh Kumar (VAOT), Santosh Kumar (Tiger Club) and Sunil Kumar (Adarsh Niketan) emerged winners.
In below 55kg, Shubam Bogal (Arvind Gosh), Amrinder Singh (KV), Shubam Sasan (Adarsh Niketan) and Shubam Magotra (Jagrati Balwadi), emerged winners.
In below 63 kg, Sayam Koul (Army School) and Pravnoor Singh (Army School Cantt), secured first and second positions respectively.
