JAMMU, Feb 12: Punjab National Bank, J&K Circle, today disbursed loans under Pradhan Pantri Mudra Yojna (PMMY), MSME, Retail & Agriculture schemes in a function held here in a hotel.
The function was presided over by Gauri Shanker, Executive Director (ED), PNB, who was accompanied by GS Gandhoke, Field General Manager, Shimla and BS Raina, Circle Head, PNB, Jammu Circle.
On the occasion, sanction letters of loan amounting to over Rs 35 crore were disbursed among 537 beneficiaries in the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Gauri Shanker said that the main objective of such functions is to encourage entrepreneurs and small business units to expand their capabilities and operations, to reduce over indebtedness and to provide them with need based credit through banking channels.
Citing the details about the Mudra Yojana, Shanker informed that Bank is providing credit up to Rs 10 lakh to small entrepreneurs in non-farm sector. “In Mudra scheme under ‘Shishu’ scheme, the bank is sanctioning loans above Rs 50,000 and up to Rs 5 lakh while under ‘Tarun’ category, loans above Rs 5 lakh and upto Rs 10 lakh are being sanctioned to the people”, he further added.
Shanker said that the main objective of the bank is to reach the door steps of the people and to provide them hassle free banking service. He further informed that the bank is creating awareness among masses in the State about various loan schemes under Retail/ Poverty alleviation segment, which the bank is providing at a very competitive rate of interest.
GS Gandhoke, Field General Manager, briefed the audience about different MSME products including PMMY and various retail loan products of the bank.
