NAGROTA, Feb 12: Provin-cial President of National Conference Devender Singh Rana today said the effective and responsible administration during the Governor’s Rule for the past about over one month has vindicated the feeling of the people about administrative and developmental inertia of the PDP-BJP Government in Jammu and Kashmir during nearly eleven months.
“Though there cannot be any substitute to popular democratic rule yet because of the administrative paralysis of the past eleven months, the Governor’s Rule has come as a whiff of fresh air for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, giving them relief and succour”, Mr Rana said while addressing workers at Bhagani Panchayat in Nagrota Assembly Constituency this afternoon.
He wondered why the previous Government could not move forward in taking decisions in the larger interest of the people and the State as a whole, which the Governor’s Administration took in just one month. While lack of clear policy could be attributed to the performance inertia of the insensitive and irresponsible Government, the petty politicking too has been responsible for failing the state, he added.
Mr Rana said the PDP President is on record having admitted that the PDP-BJP Government failed to deliver on the promises they made and thereby could not meet the expectations the people of Jammu and Kashmir, leaving them in lurch. “Therefore, whatever the political discourse will be in days to come with regard to formation of the Government or continuation of the Governor’s Rule, the National Conference cadre has to be in a vibrant mode”, he added.
The Provincial President said the political stability provided by the National Conference during Omar Abdullah led Government and developmental initiative undertaken between 2009 and 2014 remains a golden chapter in Jammu and Kashmir during the recent past. He said the people have realized the futility of giving mandate to such of the parties which did not only disregarded that but abused the political sagacity of the electorate.
Mr Rana said the past one-month’s melodrama has dejected the people who, when provided an opportunity will teach them a lesson whenever elections are announced. He urged the cadre to further intensify the mass outreach programme with focus on educating them about misgovernance of the PDP-BJP duo. “Also identify the problems faced to people, especially in far off and remote areas and seek their redressal at appropriate levels”, he asked the workers.
Responding to the local issues, listed by the people, the MLA Nagrota assured that while the developmental schemes will be got expedited through the executing agencies, the matters of immense public importance shall be taken up all concerned for earnest solution. He exuded confidence that with the cooperation and support of the people he will be able to transform the developmental landscape of the entire Nagrota Assembly Constituency.
