JAMMU, Feb 15: Roots Montessori and KC Public School jointly presented a cultural show on the theme ‘Save the Planet’ on the occasion of the Graduation Ceremony of Roots held at the open-air theatre of KC Public School, here yesterday.
The Principal of Roots Montessori, Ms Pragya in her welcome address presented a brief account of the activities of the school during the academic year 2015, while Dr Poonam Chaudhary, Chairperson of Roots, presided over the function as the chief guest.
The programme started with an action song ‘Promise to Earth’ by the children of Roots Montessori. It was a tribute to Mother Nature for her endless bounties and underscored the need to conserve the planet Earth.
The fashion show on the theme ‘Save the Planet’ presented next was well received by parents. The kids carrying colourful placards with slogans on them enthralled the audience. The way they walked with confidence and élan was amazing. The mime on ‘Save the Forests’ combined with well-choreographed dance number stole the show.
The presentation of a street play by the children of KC Public School brought forward the message that we as members of global community should make every effort to nurture nature by planting more trees. It struck the chord with the audience and generated a participative response from them. The show was anchored by the children of KC Public School.
Amarendra Mishra, Principal of KCPS while addressing the parents spoke at length about the balanced curriculum implemented at KCPS that gives equal attention to both academic and co-scholastic components of ideal education. He laid special emphasis on the fact that KCPS and Roots Montessori have a long association in their shared objective of offering the people of Jammu quality school education and hoped that interactions of this kind between the two schools would continue.
The function concluded with the Graduation Ceremony in which the young children of Roots received their certificates from the chief guest Dr. Poonam Chaudhary.
KC Public School had also put up an art exhibition in its state-of-the-art Art Arcade and Art Gallery which the parents of Roots enjoyed immensely. The parents were later taken on a guided tour of KC Sports Club which is used extensively by the students of KCPS in sharpening their sporting skills.
