Inter College debate on ‘Police Public Relations’ held

UDHAMPUR, Sept 10: An Inter-College debate on “Police-Public Relations” was organized at Government Degree College in collaboration with Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), here today.
On the occasion, Director, Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy, Farooq Khan, was the chief guest, whereas, joint director, Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), Parminder Singh, was the special guest.
A total, six teams from the Degree Colleges of Reasi, Ramnagar, Jammu and Udhampur participated and argued for and against the motion.
In ‘against the motion’ category, Muneer of GDC Udhampur and Kiran of GCW Parade spoke on the topic.  Mohd Younus Salim of GDC Reasi and Ajay Kumar of GDC Ramnagar clinched the first and second position.
They were given mementos, certificates and cash prizes of Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 each respectively.
While speaking, Director, SKPA, said that purpose of this debate was to extract the opinion for betterment in the performance of both the stakeholders in this case.
Parminder Singh also spoke on the occasion and expressed his views on the topic.
Principal of the College Dr Nutan Kumar Resutra, in his welcome address, said that more and more programmes that focus on Police-Public relations should be held in the educational institutions.
Dr Jagdish Mehra, District Information Officer, Prof Sandhya Bhardwaj, HoD English, GCW Udhampur and Prof Gurvinder Raj Verma , HoD Sericulture, GDC Udhampur, were the jury members.
At the end, Prof Sudhir Singh, Co-ordinator of the programme, presented the vote of thanks.
