JAMMU, Feb 19: In the ongoing tournament of Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committee (CGEWCC), Jammu, Carrom singles and doubles matches were played in the Recreation Complex, IISM, Jammu, here today.
Vikram Abrol defeated RK Wali by (3-2) in the summit clash to win the title, while in the first semifinal of singles event, Vikram Abrol (IIIM) beat Sunil Kumar (AG) by 2-1 and in the 2nd semifinal RK Wali (IIIM) drubbed Vasudev Bharti (Survey of India) by 2-1.
Meanwhile, in doubles final, Yudhvir Singh and Amit Khanna defeated Sunil Kumar and Sunil Pandita by 3-2.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, Yudhvir Singh and Amit Khanna (Special Bureau) got better of Dashan Kumar and Vijay Kundan (Survey of India) by 2-0, while in the 2nd semifinal, Sunil Kumar and Sunil Pandita (AG) prevailed over Naresh and Vikram (IIIM) by 2-1.
The matches were officiated by BS Bhan, NSSO, Ashok Chaddha, AG Office, Sham Lal, CWC, Deepak Balotra, Shashi Jamwal and Sanjeev Sharma.
The matches were played under the guidance of Naveen Chaddha, Special Bureau, Jammu.
On February 22 and 23, 2016, the Chess Tournament will be held in the Recreation Complex, IIIM.
