Shiksha Niketan organizes 24th Foundation Day

JAMMU, Feb 20: Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, Jammu organized its 24th Foundation Day cum Prize Distribution Function in its premises, here today.
Former Minister, Raman Bhalla was the chief guest on the occasion, while Swami Hridayanand Giri JI (Hridhaya Deep Ashram) and other dignitaries from educational department and Rita Mengi (Trustee of R M College), Ravinder Kour (Principal of RMPS) and P K Dhar (Principal of RM College) sister concerns of Shiksha Niketan and  Amit Gupta (In-charge of Sr Secondary Wing, JN) were  present on the occasion.
Rameshwar Mengi, Principal of the School presented welcome address.
Many beautiful cultural items were presented by different wings of the school. The very first item presented was Shiv Vandhana by the girls of Higher Secondary Wing under the supervision of Shweta, Jagdeep Kour and Meena.
A Dogri Skit was staged by the students of High Wing, which was prepared under the supervision of Radhika and Bandhna. Annual Report was read by the Principal.
Then the academic result of the year 2014-15 was announced by the Principal, wherein 200 students appeared in the secondary class exam out of which the school got 32 positions and 147 distinctions and 100% result.
In Sr. Sec. exams in the year 2014-15, 626 students passed with 15 positions and 417 distinctions and with 95% result. The meritorious students were given the scholarship of Rs 16,52,500 in the year 2014-15.
An enthusiastic Punjabi Dance was presented by the little toddlers of Pre – Primary wing with the help of their teachers Kiran and Shivalika.
A cheque of Rs 5000 was given to one meritorious student of Class 12th as position was confirmed after re-evaluation. Prizes were also distributed to all distinction holders of Class 10th and 12th by the chief guest.
A beautiful Dogri Dance was presented by the students of Primary Wing under the supervision of Nisha and Sukhdeep Kour. The chief guest distributed among 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders on the occasion.
Vote of thanks was presented by Nirmal Sharma, In-charge of the School. The programme ended with National Anthem.
