BHADERWAH, Feb 20: District Police Doda organized a District Level T10 Cricket Tournament, under Civic Action Programe at Bhaderwah.
The tournament was inaugurated by Prof GM Bhat, Rector Bhaderwah Campus of Jammu University, who was the chief guest on the occasion and ASP Bhaderwah Amit Bhasin was the guest of honour.
The tournament was organized at Bhaderwah under the guidance of SDPO Bhadarwah Sardar Sajjad Ahmed Khan who is Nodal Officer for the event.
The inaugural match was played between Medical XI and Young Star XI. Medical XI won the toss and elected to bat first and set target of 111 runs for YS XI.
In reply, the team of YS XI failed to chase the target and bundled-out for 57 runs, thus Medical XI won the match by 53 runs.
Total of 16 teams from different areas participated in the tournament.
The Tournament is part of the continued efforts by Distt Police to exult the passion of sports amongst the youth, the initiative is to motivate the youth and the concerted efforts in promoting the culture of sports was appreciated by local.
While interacting with players, SDPO Bhaderwah Sardar Sajjad Ahmed Khan said that drug abuse can be dealt with strong collective will of the society.
SHO Bhaderwah, Jatinder Sambyal, Principal GHSS Boys Bhaderwah and others were present on the occasion.
