JAMMU, Feb 22: Indian Speed Star Athletic Event, being organized by National Yuva Cooperative Society (NYCS), will be inaugurated by Kavinder Gupta, Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly at MA Stadium.
While Mr Gupta will be the chief guest on the inaugural function, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council and Anil Gupta, BJP leader will be the guests of honour.
Talent identification and selection will be done through organizing athletics events and the athletes from remote areas and disadvantaged communities will be nurtured through access to coaching, foreign training, physiotherapy, mental conditioning and other support services.
The selection committee comprises of eminent sportspersons including PT Usha, Rachita Mistry, Anuradha Biswal and Kavita Raut.
GAIL India Limited is the sponsor of the event, while Anglian Hunt Company (AMHC) is the technical partner of the Event.
