JAMMU, Feb 26: A deputation of inhabitants of Sub-Division Padder, tehsil Machail, led by Thakur Rangail Singh today met Governor NN Vohra and demanded immediate start of work abandoned on Atholi-Machail Road.
The deputation said that the construction work of this urgent nature road was taken up in 2008 by PMGSY but so far only five kilometer stretch of the road from Gulab Garh to Garh had been completed, as the work was abandoned by the concerned agency after some people of village Garh for their vested interests started creating hurdles in the execution of road.
“Our repeated requests regarding execution of the abandoned work on the road project to the district administration have fallen into deaf years”, the deputation said and appealed Governor NN Vohra to issue necessary orders in this connection.
The Governor gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured them that the work on the road project would be started on priority and completed within due course of time.
