Zulfkar presses for opening of Indo-Pak routes

RS Pura, Feb 28: Pressing upon opening of Indo-Pak routes for strengthening relations with Pakistan, former Minister and MLA Darhal Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has said that there is need to take forward the unfinished dreams of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and opening of these links will be best tribute to Late Statesman.
Addressing programme at RS Pura which was organised by Vice Chairman of Scheduled Caste Advisory Board Bhushan Lal Dogra to pay tribute to Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, former Minister Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that Mufti wanted better ties with Pakistan and he had dreamt of opening of more routes between India and Pakistan in the interests of people along International Border and LoC. He said that Government of India should take up the matter with Pakistan and open Suchetgarh – Sialkote route besides Nowshera-Jahangir and Kargil-Askardu routes. He said that opening of these routes will surely initiate new chapter of friendship between India and Pakistan and will also realize the dream of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who always pitched for opening such routes for better ties between two neighbourers.
In the programme which was also addressed by Party General Secretary Ved Mahajan, former MP Trilok Singh Bajwa, Chater Sani, Mohammad Iqbal Kazmi, Rajinder Manhas, Raj Kumar Malhotra, Damin Bhasin, Rama Khajuria and District President FC Bhagata, senior PDP leader Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali while paying tribute to Mufti said that there was no alternative in the state before 1998 but Mufti Mohammad Sayeed broke the monopoly of one party and formed PDP for the welfare of the people of this State.
He said that the basic concept in formation of the party was to give people alternative in the State so that they taste the real fruit of democracy.
On the occasion, Vice Chairman of Scheduled Caste Advisory Board Bhushan Lal Dogra the organiser of the programme paid rich tribute to Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and said that RS Pura was always in the heart of Mufti and he never forget the people of this area after first election for Assembly from this Constituency.
Terming Mufti as great Statesman, former MP Trilok Singh Bajwa said that when Mufti had to choose a Rajya Sabha Member from Jammu province, he chose RS Pura for the same and gives him an opportunity to work for the people.
General Secretary of the Party Ved Mahajan termed Mufti as internationally acclaimed leader of masses and said that after his death a void has created which is impossible to be filled. He said that Mehbooba Mufti is following the foot steps of Mufti Sayeed and she is capable enough to run the affairs of the state so party workers must strengthen her hands for over all development of the State.
