Inter School Story telling competition held

JAMMU, Sept 11: Youth Talent, a Forum of Schools, organised Inter School Story telling competition at Lawrence Public School, Panjtirthi, in which students from various schools participated.
The programme started with the lighting of the traditional lamp followed by the welcome address by the coordinator, Rajni Dutta.
Four students from each school narrated their stories, in English and Hindi.
Brij Mohan, Ex-Editor, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Sumit Sharma, programme officer, All India Radio, Broadcasting Corporation of India (BCI), judged the performance of the students on the basis of their selection of topic, confidence level, body language, pronunciation, voice modulation and use of play cards.
In English Story telling, first prize went to Simran Farooq from Alexander Memorial School, second prize went to Arunima Jamwal from Lawrence Public School and third prize went to Manya Sharma from SD Tara Puri School. The consolation prize went to Harsimran Ramit Singh from Stephens International School.
In Hindi Story telling, first prize went to Pulkit Verma from Lawrence Public School, second prize went to Jatin from JK Montessori School and third prize went to Harpriya from JK Montessori School. The consolation prize went to Manvi from SD Tara Puri School.
Principal, Lawrence Public School, Shakuntla Joshi, encouraged the students who could not win any prizes by also appreciating them and advised them to do much better the next time. Later she presented the vote of thanks.
