JAMMU, Mar 4: As a part of the series, the Institute of Music and Fine Arts organized a vocal recital of Kaakli Mukherji, a disciple of Sipra Bose and Girija Devi, and a Flute Recital of Santosh Sant, disciple of Pt Parasad Chourasia.
Both the artists interacted with the students of IMFA and performed for the benefits of the students. Kaakli Mukherji is a Thumari Dadri artist. She sang five raags i.e Thumari in Raag Mishra Khamaj; Barhamasa, a typical form of Lakhnow Gharana; Chaat and she ended her performance with Daadra and Daadra in Raag Mishra.
Santosh Sant gave a brief introduction about Raag Shivranjani which was followed by dhun in Raag Shivranjani
V K Sambyal, Station Director Radio Kashmir Jammu and Prof Poonam Chaudhary, Principal IMFA were present on the occasion.
