Maruti Suzuki Nagrota Premier League Tournament Vikram, Banu Partap guide Jandial Thathi Warriors, Majeen Sidhra Stars to big victories

BAJALTA, Mar 4: Briilaint bowling display by Vikram Singh and magnificent batting performance by Banu Partap helped Jandial Thathi Warriors to defeat Sandhori Warriors and Majeen Sidhra to prevail over Nadore Killers in the Maruti Suzuki Nagrota Premier League Tournament, an initiative of MLA Devender Singh Rana.
Earlier, winning the toss at Bajalta playfield in the Nagrota Assembly Constituency, Sandhori Warriors after winning the toss decided to bat first. However, the decision proved costly for them as they collapsed at a meagre total of 28 runs in 11 overs.
In reply, Jandial Thathi Warriors scored 29 runs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Vikram Singh of Jandial Thathi Warriors was declared as man of the match for his outstanding bowling performance. He took 5 important wickets in his quota of 3 overs by conceding just 2 runs.
The second match was played between Majeen Sidhra Stars and Nadore Killers.
Winning the toss Majeen Sidhra Stars decided to bat first and scored 165 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the stipulated 14 overs. Banu Pratap missed the ton by a whisker as he scored brilliant 99 runs of 42 balls.
Nadore Killers failed to chase the target and manage to score 122 only in 14 overs after losing 5 wickets. For his unbeaten 99 runs, Banu Partap was declared as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Saleem-Ur-Rehman and Suresh Singh from the Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K as umpires, while Zulfikar Ahmed and Mohammed Gul were the scorers.
Besides cricket lovers from Nagrota and Jammu, the matches were witnessed by Sarpanch Jandyal Upper and Jandyal Lower, Ravinder Singh Peter and Balbir Singh. Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, former Ranji Trophy player and Member Organizing Committee was also present.
Both the matches were played under the overall supervision of Faheem Tak, vice president Take-1 Channel and Member Organizing Committee.
