MSIL to kickstart National Super League TSD Rally C’ship from Uttarakhand

JAMMU, Mar 11: Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) will flag off its maiden adventure sport rally in Uttarakhand. Named as Maruti Suzuki Uttarakhand Adventure Car Rally, it will be the first leg of the very popular 2016 National Super League TSD Rally Championship.
From this year MSIL has formed an association with National Super League TSD Rally Championship and will organize six rally events under the banner across the country.
The rally is being organized in collaboration with the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) and will be flagged off by Chief Minister Harish Rawat from Paryatan Bhawan in Dehradun on March 14. It will witness participation from 35 teams driving cars and SUVs, with each team comprising a driver and a navigator.
Uttarakhand Secretary Tourism Shailesh Bagauli said, “The rally will pass by some of our most loved tourism hotspots like the world-class ski resort at Auli, and Garjiya on the border of the Jim Corbett National Wildflife Park. This will showcase to the world that Uttarakhand is the ideal adventure destination for families and youth alike, and the State has an excellent road network”.
RS Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki said,” We at Maruti Suzuki believe in making motor sport accessible to everyone in India. Adding another rally with a new destination takes us one step closer to this objective. With each rally, we try to bring in newer concepts and take it to the highest international standards. Over the years, we have seen surge in participation levels, which is a clear indication that our efforts are headed in the right direction and is a great motivation factor to expand our horizon.”
The 2016 Maruti Suzuki Uttarakhand Adventure Car Rally will run three competitive legs over the prime Garhwal axis of the State. It will be organized by Himalayan Motorsport—the premier Shimla-based motorsport club.
The National Super League TSD Rally Championship will comprise a total of six events across the country. The other championships of this rally are—The Backwaters Rally in Cochin, The Mughal Rally in Jammu and Kashmir, The Deccan Rally in the Pune region, The Rally of Gujarat, with the last rally being organized in Arunachal Pradesh.
The National Super League TSD Rally Championship has been started by the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of India (FMSCI).
