JU Women Volleyball team enters QFs in Inter-University C’ship

JAMMU, Mar 11: It was a historic moment for University of Jammu Women Volleyball team as the team enters into the quarterfinals of ongoing North Zone Inter-University Volleyball Women Tournament 2015-2016, being organized by Kurukshetra University at Kurukshetra Sports Complex.
Earlier, in first round, Jammu University beat Amity University Noida by 3-1(25-18, 25-19, 23-25, 25-16).
In second round, Jammu University outplayed UTU Dehradun by 3-1 sets with set scores 25-19, 24-26,25-8 and 25-11.
In pre-quarterfinal round , Jammu University defeated BRA, NIT Jalandhar in a close contested match by 3-2 sets (25-19,23-25,25-20,21-25 and                     15-12 respectively).
Manu Singh Pawar, Priya Choudhary, Shivali Kumari, Shalvi Charak, Priyanka Bagal and Radha Kumari played brilliantly  from Jammu University, while the efforts of Vikas Karlopia (coach) and Nisha Atri manager lead the team to play quarter final against the defending champion and host Kurukshetra University tomorrow.
Prof. Dhian Singh Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education , University of Jammu congratulated the efforts of the team and its support staff for this achievement.
