RAJOURI, Mar 16: Govt Post Graduate College Rajouri, a premier institution of higher learning in Peer Panchal organized an Inter-College Symposium on ‘Truth and Non-Violence’, here today.
Nine students from various Govt and Private Colleges of Rajouri district including the host College, GDC Nowshera, GDC Thanamandi, GDC Budhal, Himalayan Degree College Rajouri participated and deliberated extensively on the importance of these divine values.
The programme was presided over by the Principal of the College, Dr M K Waqar, while MLA Rajouri, Ch Qammar Hussain was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr Shakeel Ahmed Raina and Chief Education Officer Rajouri were the guests of honour.
This event was an initiative of Literary and Cultural Committee headed by Prof Iqbal Raina (Convener) who along with Prof Mohd Saleem Wani jointly conducted the proceedings of the programme, while Prof Ghulam Abbas and Prof. Asif Ajaz Lone were also present on the occasion.
The jury members included Prof AR Choudhary Ex-Principal, Nagesh HoD DIET and Prof. Farooq Mirza, who adjudged Zeenat Fatima of Govt PG College Rajouri, Zahid Farooq, Govt Degree College Budhal and Tanveer Ahmed of Himalayan Degree College Rajouri as first, second and third respectively. They were presented a cash award of Rs. 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 respectively.
All other participants were awarded with consolation prizes and certificates.
