NEW DELHI, Mar 18: Anita Dongre, known for creating a work environment that is completely in sync with the natural environment, stuck to her brand’s belief as she showcased her new line at the Amazon India Fashion Week.
The designer’s autumn winter collection was inspired by nature and through her line Dongre gave a message of how important it is to make fashion sustainable.
Like all her other collections and her brand Grassroot, this line was also a tribute to India’s handcrafted traditions.
Titled ‘Earth Song’, the designer through the collection promoted the love for forests and also made a one-minute video depicting the same.
“My line is inspired by the forest. We live in cities and we forget to listen to our nature. The line is very organic and earthy. Grassroot is all about hand -made. I have used a lot of hand block technique, kantha, brush strokes,” Dongre said.
The colour story also depicted the same nature love with blues, browns, reds, mustards, orange and leafy greens taking the forefront.
The contemporary collection featuring croptops, pants, jackets, dungarees, kurtas, dresses, skirts and parallels were mostly made of linens, hand spun silks and Bhagalpuri weaves.
The decor with all the tree branches hanging from the ceiling and small plant installations around the ramp area was in sync with the theme of the show. (PTI)
