VK Kohli Memorial Hockey Championship gets underway

JAMMU, Mar 20: State Hockey Championship for VK Kohli Memorial Trophy, being organized by Hockey J&K and sponsored by Sports Council, got underway at KK Hakku Astroturf Stadium, here today.
BSF Jammu defeated District  Samba by four goals to nil (4-0). From BSF Jammu, the 1st goal was scored by Dharminder Singh in 2nd minute, while second goal was netted by Anish Tonwar in 24th minute. The third goal was pelted by Sanjay Singh in 45th minute and the 4th and the last goal was again scored by Anish Tonwar in 59th minute.
Rajinder Singh, treasurer Hockey India was the chief guest on the occasion, while prominent among others present on the occasion were Harbans Singh, Veteran hockey player; Gurjeet Singh, international hockry player; Sham Lal, vice president Hockey J&K  and MS Reen, resident secretary Hockey J&K.
The match was officials by Jageet Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Surinder Singh, Joginder Singh, Mohd Amin, Kulwant Singh and Charanjeet Singh, Tournament Director.
In tomorrow’s fixture,  District Kathua will take on District Anantnag at 11.30 am, while  BSF Jammu will lock horns with Jammu cantt at 1 pm.
