REASI, Mar 21: The Department of Information and Public Relations, Reasi organized a symposium on the topic ‘Drug Addiction’ in the premises of Durga Public Shiksha Kendra School, Naley, Katra here today.
Principal of the School, Kanica Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion.
As many as 8 students of this institution participated in the contest and highlighted the harmful effects of drug addiction in life.
Janvi Paul was adjudged first while Madhu Devi and Bhumi Jaguri stood 2nd and 3rd respectively. Arya Vansh and Jannu bagged consolation prizes.
While speaking on the occasion, chief guest appreciated the efforts of Information Department to organise such type of contest in the School for mass awareness among the students about the harmful effects of Drug addiction- a threat to mankind. She urged the department to organize more such programmes in the near future.
Later, the chief guest also distributed prizes and certificates among the participants of the contest.
Abhinam Sharma, Sesh Kumar and Aarti Thakur acted as judges while as Minakshi Sharma conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Staff members, Parents and students in large number were present on the occasion.
Later, Information department also organized a scintillating cultural programme in the premises of the school. Artists of Vijay & Party cultural troupe gave colorful performance on the occasion, which attracted huge applause from the audience.
