JAMMU, Mar 22: Young Rovers and J&K Police outplayed their rivals convincingly to advance in the ongoing 24th State Football Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College Football ground, here.
In the first match, Young Rovers defeated DFA Samba by two goals to nil (2-0) in a match which witnessed protest for some players of Young Rovers by DFA Samba. The first goal was scored by Rahul Sharma in 65th minute, while the second goal was netted by Avinash in 71st minute.
In another match, J&K Police defeated Param FC by a solitary goal and the goal scorer was Gulzar Ahmed who pelted the goal in 5th minute.
Te matches were officiated by Zahid, Suresh Gupta, Rickey Kumar, Javed, Mohinder Kalsi and Amardeep Singh.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Jammu United will take on DFA Kathua at 12:30 pm, while Sainik Colony will lock horns with Udhampur DFA at 4:00 PM.
