J&K Police Centre to lock horns with Jammu Rural in VK Kohli Memorial Hockey final

JAMMU, Mar 25: Outplaying their rivals convincingly in the semifinals, J&K Police Centre Hockey team and Jammu Rural team have qualified for the finals of the State Hockey Championship for VK Kohli Memorial Trophy today and will lock horns with each other in the summit clash at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here.
In the first semifinal played today, J&K Police Centre Hockey team blanked BSF Jammu by six goals to nil (6-0). The first goal was scored by Jaspreet Singh in 25th minute, while the second goal was netted by Satwant Singh in 39th minute and the third goal was again scored by Jaspreet Singh in 43rd minute of the match. The 4th goal was scored by Sikander Pal in the 50th minute, while the 5th goal was netted by Surinder Pal in 53rd minute. The 6th and the last goal was scored by Charanjit Singh in the 56th minute.
In another semifinal, Jammu Rural defeated Jammu West by six goals to three (6-3). The first goal of the match was scored by Jammu West early in the 8th minute through Ramandeep Singh. However, Jammu Rural team came back strongly to score back to back three goals in 19th, 29th and 48th minutes through Jagjeet Singh,  Balmeet Singh and Agamdeep Singh, before Ramnik Singh netted the second goal for Jammu West in 51st minute. Then, Agamdeep, Davinder Singh and Karanjit Singh scored the goals during 55th, 56th and 57th minutes respectively to make it (6-3) in their team’s favour.
Dr S K Bali, Prof and Head of the Nephrology Department Super Speciality Hospital was the chief guest on the occasion, while Gurmeet Singh, Superintending Engineer was the guest of honour.
The matches were officiated by Karanjit Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Joginder Singh, Gurjeet Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Surinder Singh, Kulwant Singh, Abhishek and Veena Chib.
