JAMMU, Mar 26: Shastri Cricket Club and Dhoni Cricket Club defeated their rivals in the ongoing 1st SP Smart Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at MA Stadium, here today.
In the first match, Shastri Club defeated NMCC in a close contest by one wicket. Batting first, NMCC scored a modest total, with Anku, Rahul and Anuj scoring 28, 26 and 20 runs to the total respectively. Vicky Raina was the pick of the bowlers for NMCC, who scalped 3 important wickets, while Amit Sharma and Sahil Bhal claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Shastri Club chased the target in a thrilling contest by losing 9 wickets to win the match by one wicket. Amit Sahrma scored a brilliant half-century (52), while Deepak and Vikas contributed 22 and 20 runs to the total respectively. Varinder bowled magnificently and captured 5 wickets by giving away 28 runs in his 4 overs. Amit Sharma was adjudged as man of the match for his all-round show.
In another match, Dhoni Cricket Club defeated Dev Cricket Club by by 2 wicket. Dev Club scored 129 runs. Kavi, Rinka and Raju contributed 39, 36 and 26 runs to the total respectively. Vicky Dogra and Aman claimed 3 wickets each for Dhoni Cricket Club.
In reply, Dhoni Cricket Club chased the target by losing 8 wickets to win the match by 2 wickets. Prince and Vicky Dogra scored 38 and 23 runs to the total respectively. For Dev Club, Shera, Raju and Rahul claimed 2 wickets each.
