JAMMU, Mar 28: Kashmiri Displaced Forum (KDF) held a protest demonstration at Jagti township today against denial of ration of last two months and slow pace on the part of authorities in issuance the Aadhar Cards for the displaced people despite the fact that Aadhar has been made basis of identification by the Government.
The protest was led by A K Sadhu chairman of the Forum. He said by forcing the NFSA on migrants the entire community of displaced Pandits was put to miseries. He expressed anguish for depriving the community of monthly ration supply that has led to starvation in some families also. Sadhu said the community in general and the relief holders in particular are facing hardships due to the unconcerned approach of the authorities as relief holders having no source of income and hence can’t purchase the ration from open market.
Sadhu urged the authorities to ensure the supply of ration as per old scale without further delay failing which the migrants will intensify agitation.
Meanwhile Jagti Welfare Committee (JWC) president Vijay Kaul expressed concern over delay in issuance of Aadhar Cards to migrants. He while referring to notification of relief authorities asking them to submit the copy or Aadhar cards to the Relief organization said how can be this possible when the authorities themselves are delaying issuance of Aadhar cards and the process for the same is very slow. He said under such circumstances migrants are unable to furnish the Aadhar cards to Relief organization.
