JAMMU, Mar 29: The PG Department of English in GGM Science College, Jammu, organized a guest lecture on the “History, Evolution and Development of American Literature”.
Prof Sucheta Pathania, Head Department of English, University of Jammu, was the Resource Person. She apprised the students about the history, development and evolution of American Literature since its independence. She focused on the evolution of American Drama in depth. In her comprehensive lecture, she delved on the concepts of American Dream, the Myth of the South, Civil War, Criticism, role of religion and impact of politics and technology in American Literature.
Earlier, the college Principal, Dr Ajeet Angral, presented a welcome address and said that the PG students of GGM Science College should have more interaction with the students of Department of English in JU.
All the faculty members of the department attended the lecture. The proceedings were conducted by Prof Shalini Rana. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof Yasmeen Mughal.
