J&K State Wrestling Championship gets underway

JAMMU, Mar 30: Two days long 21st Men and 7th Women J&K State Wrestling Championship got underway at Bajrangi Akhara, Shalamar, here today.
The Championship is being organized by J&K Wrestling Association under the aegis J&K State Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association.
200 wrestlers from different districts of Poonch, Reasi, Doda, Rajouri, Udhampur, Srinagar, Ganderbal and JKP are taking part in the Championship.
Viplav Kumar Choudhary, IGP Traffic J&K Police declared the Championship open in an impressive and well attended function.
Prominent who are present on the occasion are Sh. Pardeep Sharma President Bajrangi Akhara Shalamar, Dushyant Sharma Former President Wrestling Federation of India, Vikas Gupta, Raju Sharma, Dheeraj Sharma, Nirdosh Sharma and Manish Chatwal. Officials are Kulbir Singh, Sh. Govind Singh, Ravi Sharma and Gourav Sharma. Sh. Ajay Vaid is the organizing Secretary of the two days long championship.
In a tough competition, wrestlers who reached pool final included Abhik Singh (Jmu), Lal Hussain (JKP), Gourav (Jmu) and Tirath Singh (Udh) (57 KG).
In 61 KG, Ajay Bharti (JKP), Amit Manhas (Jmu), Ramesh Singh (Jmu) and Ashwani Kumar (Jmu), while in 65 KG, Bushan Mehra (Jmu), Ali Khan (Jmu), Bachan Singh (Jmu) and Sahil Sharma (Jmu)
In 70 KG, Pawan Kumar (JKP), Munir Ali (Jmu),  Surinder Singh (Jmu) and Lovkesh (Jmu), while in 74 KG, Surinder Singh (Jmu),  Ranjit Singh (JKP), Shubab Chowdary (Jmu) and Rajesh (JKP).
