DDC issues calendar of Girdawari

KATHUA, Mar 30: In view of ensuing Girdawari season, Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Kumar today issued a calendar of Girdawari for all the 500 revenue villages of the district except 33 village of Tehsil Bani in connection with the forthcoming Girdawari/Harvest inspection of crops/lands scheduled to be commenced from April 1, 2016.
The calendar contains the name of each village of the district along with the name of Patwari as well as the date on which the official would visit the respective village for harvest inspection. The calendar has also been uploaded on the district website www.kathua.nic.in for the information of the general public.
As per the rules, Patwari has to visit each field during the harvest inspection. Any change noticed on ground has to be recorded in the register Roznamcha Waqiati of the Patwari.
It is pertinent to mention that Girdawari calendar for the State is issued every year during the Rabi & Kharif season. The exercise is crucial in deciding the spot position of crop and the spot possession.
