JAMMU, Mar 30: PDP MP Rajya Sabha, Nazir Ahmed Laway today visited Jagti Migrant township and listened the problems of the displaced people putting up there.
The MP was accompanied by PDP Migrant Cell chairman Ramesh Kaul, S K Raina, A K Pardesi and Sunil Bhat.
The MP held the meeting with the activists of Kashmiri Pandit United Coordination Committee (KPUCC) led by Bansi Lal Koul its chairman and Annu its president.
KPUCC also presented a memorandum to the MP which among other things demanded grant of ration to migrants on previous scale, renovation of residential blocks, renovation of roads and lanes which are in dilapidated condition, grant of compensation to migrants for the losses suffered by them during last 26 years after the damage to their left over properties in Valley, holding of on spot recruitment rally at Jagti and other migrant camps, grant of one time compensation to the over-aged youth, implementation of PM’s employment package and posting of staff in Jagti hospital.
The MP and other PDP leaders assured the representatives of KPUCC that they will take up the issue with higher authorities.
