Srinagar, Mar 30: A Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant, Tanwir Ahmad Sofi, today surrendered before police in South Kashmir’s district of Anantnag.
Sofi was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in last year’s attack on BSF in Udhampur. He had provided shelter to the attackers but was let off by the NIA after his arrest.
Sources said that Sofi had joined LeT recently and escaped from Kakpora encounter in which two militants were killed and from Wandakpora encounter in which LeT commander, Abu Ukasha and his associate were killed.
