JAMMU, Apr 2: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone Danish Rana has wrote a letter to Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra Kumar for taking issue of derogatory remarks with MHA, Government of India over social site ‘Facebook’ against a particular community by a youth presently residing in Malaysia.
As per police sources, a case FIR Number 76/16 under Section 29-A RPC and 66-A/67 IT Act has been registered at police station Gandhi Nagar Jammu against Deepak Thakur alias Maya Bhai, who is operating a Facebook account and through the said account has exhibited derogatory pictures of a particular community alongwith other objectionable material thereby hurting the religious sentiments of the community which has potential to disturb the communal fabric of J&K State, neighbouring State of Punjab and other areas.
During investigation the whereabouts of Deepak Thakur alias Maya Bhai were found to be somewhere in Malaysia. Since the above named culprit is residing in Malaysia and keeping in view the gravity of the situation, his early arrest is urgently required in the above said FIR, sources stated.
Sources informed that IGP Jammu Zone requested DGP to taken up the matter with J&K Government and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India for immediate arrest of the person and his deportation to India forthwith in order to ensure exception finalization of the case.
The same letter has been forwarded to MHA for necessary action by DGP Office, sources added.
