Time and again concerned Deptts through this paper were requested to take strict of action against defaulters who use excessive pesticides / chemicals for preserving, killing insects or ripening purposes. Normally use of pesticides is dangerous for human beings and when used excessively is very very harmful. Day by day new diseases occur and it is one of the major causes. In Jammu urban area, it is hard to find naturally grown vegetables, fruits. It has been observed that concerned Deptts. be it Horticulture, Agriculture etc are sleeping over the matter and no strict action is being taken against the defaulters.
The concerned agency is requested to take concerted efforts in informing farmers, growers, concerned people with the trade for not using excessive pesticides,and no chemicals for ripening of fruits. As already highlighted, chemicals are being used in Mandis for ripening of fruits. If no action is taken against these elements it will be clear that concerned Deptts, agencies do not bother for safe health of people and are playing with their lives.
